No. The Argis Lens is as accurate as the GPS unit it is connected to and can be used with the internal GPS within the device. Use of a bluetooth GPS is optional, but some end users experience better visualization of their data if they are using some type of bluetooth or commercial grade GPS unit paired with the device.
